How You Can Take Action

Congress is set to reconvene from “recess” next week, and it’s time to take action. Obama will be addressing Congress on Wednesday and I speculate there may be a proposed "Trigger Option."

Please take note of the action items listed and contact the 6 Republican lawmakers who won’t just say “no” to healthcare reform… they can’t hear from you too many times!

Make sure you read Dr. Larry Hunter’s article about “Kill the Bill…” we must stay focused on killing this bill, as allowing any compromise or form of healthcare legislation opens the door to the inevitable and incremental approach to complete healthcare legislation at some time in the future.

1) Sign the petition to Stop Obama’s Health Care Plan at http://www.ccm-cos.com/16.html

2) The White House is in negotiations with Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) about a so-called “trigger” option for health care reform, which basically allows lawmakers to pass a bill while “passing the buck,” since the law would not go into effect until years down the road. Read more about the “trigger option” here: Why the “Trigger” is a Bad Idea

Contact Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and tell her no to any government health care option! Her contact information: http://snowe.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactSenatorSnowe.Email

3) Contact the 5 other Republican Senators who continue to try and negotiate a health care reform compromise! Tell them to stop negotiating a compromise and let the health care legislation die! Their contact information:

· Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA): http://grassley.senate.gov/contact.cfm
· Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY): http://enzi.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactInformation.EmailSenatorEnzi
· Senator Susan Collins (R-ME): http://collins.senate.gov/public/continue.cfm?FuseAction=ContactSenatorCollins.EmailIssue&CFID=12260794&CFTOKEN=27730446
· Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC): http://lgraham.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Contact.OfficeLocations
· Senator Bob Bennett (R-UT): http://bennett.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=Contact

4) If possible, attend the 9/12/09 March on Washington… this could prove to be a historical turnout! http://912dc.org/

A special thanks to Michelle Morin, for the compilation of this material.

Good idea, but don't the dems have 60% control of the senate?
